Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Instituto Superior de Filosofia e de Teologia (ISFIT), SIMI has signed a new agreement with the Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Timorense (UCT) S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o Paulo II, expanding its network of partnerships in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The <span style=\"color: #336699;\">Memorandum of Understanding with ISFIT<\/span> was signed on August 20, 2026, by <span style=\"color: #336699;\">Fr. Leonir Mario Chiarello<\/span>, CS, President of SIMI, and <span style=\"color: #336699;\">Fr. Justino Tanec<\/span>, Rector of the Institute. The agreement aims to strengthen academic, scientific, and institutional collaboration, creating <span style=\"color: #336699;\">new opportunities in the areas of education, research, and knowledge exchange<\/span>, with a particular focus on theology, pastoral ministry, the social sciences, and studies on human mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">This agreement was followed by another recently signed with the <span style=\"color: #336699;\">Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Timorense (UCT) S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o Paulo II by Friar Prof. Dr. Joel Casimiro Pint<\/span>o, OFM, Rector of UCT. The collaboration with UCT will focus<span style=\"color: #336699;\"> in particular on the fields of theology, mission, pastoral ministry, the social doctrine of the Church, ethics, social sciences, and migration studies<\/span>. Among the main objectives identified are the<span style=\"color: #336699;\"> promotion of research and training, the exchange of knowledge, and international mobility<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">These two agreements represent a <span style=\"color: #336699;\">further step toward consolidating SIMI\u2019s international presence and building an academic network i<\/span>ncreasingly focused on the study of human mobility and migration.
