DESCRIPTION:Les migrations représentent plus que de simples déplacements de personnes d’un endroit à un autre\, elles sont liées aux transformations culturelles\, sociales\, politiques et religieuses des personnes et des nations\, ainsi qu’à la réorganisation continue des communautés. Aussi constituent-elles un grand défi pour l’humanité et\, en même temps\, une opportunité de transformation de celle-ci. Les migrations soulèvent des questions de la plus haute importance pour le programme mondial\, car elles concernent les gouvernements\, les religions en général et l’Église catholique en particulier\, les communautés mondiales\, nationales\, régionales et locales\, les familles et d’innombrables personnes. \nPour relever ces défis de manière responsable\, les Églises locales des pays d’origine\, de transit et de destination du monde entier sont appelées à promouvoir des réflexions et des études théologiques sur ce phénomène\, et à permettre et encourager des actions pastorales concrètes. À cette fin\, un groupe de congrégations guidées par l’Union Internationale des Supérieure Générales (UISG)\, par l’Union des Supérieurs Généraux (USG) et par le Scalabrini International Migration Institut (SIMI) organise une réunion de biblistes et théologiens internationaux et d’agents pastoraux afin de présenter l’état de leurs recherches\, en débattre et répondre à la réalité des mouvements migratoires actuels. Cette conférence inter- nationale de trois jours est une occasion importante de réflexion ouverte à l’action. \n\n\nDes étrangers et des hôtes comme tous nos pères (1 Chr 29\, 15) \nDans le contexte de la consécration du premier temple\, \n\n\nd’après le récit du chroniqueur biblique\, le roi David fait une prière d’action de grâce et d’offrande à Dieu. Dans cette prière\, le roi se présente devant Dieu comme celui qui reconnaît l’histoire de migration de ses pères en Égypte et dans le désert\, sa propre identité et l’amour de Dieu pour les migrants\, qu’il exprime ainsi: «Nous sommes devant toi des étrangers et des hôtes comme tous nos pères!». Être migrant\, dans la perspective de David\, ce n’est pas seulement le statut socio-politique du peuple élu\, mais une partie fondamentale de son identité. DESCRIPTION:Il 24 marzo 2020 dalle ore 9.30 presso la Città dei Ragazzi si svolgerà̀ il Convegno « Percorsi di cittadinanza: dall’esclusione all’inclusione » in preparazione del Global Compact on Education\, voluto da Papa Francesco per promuovere un patto educativo globale da ratificare il 14 maggio 2020. In occasione dell’evento si rifletterà anche sulle migrazioni a partire dai 4 verbi di Papa Francesco (accogliere\, proteggere\, promuovere\, integrare)\, non solamente dal punto di vista dei migranti\, ma più in generale come concetti-guida per le nuove generazioni. Il convegno sarà preceduto dai saluti dei rappresentanti dei vari Dicasteri vaticani e da un videomessaggio del Papa per l’evento. DESCRIPTION:Dal 22 al 25 luglio 2019 si è svolta a Shengjin (Albania) la X edizione della Summer School “Mobilità Umana e Giustizia Globale »\, promossa dall’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in collaborazione con lo Scalabrini International Migration Institute\, l’Agenzia Scalabriniana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo e la Fondazione Migrantes e Fondazione ISMU. \nLa Scuola quest’anno ha affrontato il tema della religione nei processi migratori\, gettando luce sul fenomeno della mobilità forzata generata dai conflitti e dalle persecuzioni su base religiosa\, ma anche sul ruolo che la religione e la spiritualità svolgono nella biografia dei migranti e delle loro famiglie\, agendo come fattore di resilienza\, di sostegno identitario e di cura del legame tra generazioni. \nSono state numerose\, in questi anni\, le iniziative formative dedicate al fenomeno epocale delle migrazioni internazionali. In questo quadro\, la Summer School “Mobilità umana e giustizia globale” vuole caratterizzarsi per una sorta di “riposizionamento” di prospettiva\, collocando l’analisi dei processi di mobilità umana all’interno di una riflessione più ampia\, che rinvia appunto alla questione della giustizia globale\, letta in tutte le sue implicazioni: economiche\, politiche\, sociali\, culturali ed etiche. \nAttraverso gli interventi di studiosi ed esperti\, la presentazione di ricerche\, iniziative e testimonianze\, la realizzazione di laboratori interattivi\, la scuola vuole offrire un’occasione di crescita culturale\, professionale e umana\, prendendo le distanze dagli argomenti usualmente strumentalizzati dal dibattito politico\, ma anche proponendo un “salto di qualità” rispetto alle letture semplicistiche che sovente si danno dei fenomeni migratori\, dei loro protagonisti e del loro governo.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Scalabrini Fathers’ arrival in Cape Town\, SIHMA organized a study meeting for all priests in the archdiocese to discuss human mobility within the lense of Catholic ministry.  The event showcased two Italian speakers\, Fr. Francesco Pesce\, the Director of Centre for the Family in Treviso\, and Fr. Aldo Skoda\, CS\, Dean of Scalabrini International Migration Institute (SIMI) in Urbaniana Pontifical University in Rome.  Archbishop Stephen Brislin was also in attendance. \nFr. Francesco Pesce focused his discussion around his work with couples and families.  He explained the theological view of family must be more inclusive and diverse. Most families and marriages do not fit in the basic and generalized model that is often presented in the Catholic faith.  To adequately assist couples and families\, the complicated issues of each family must be acknowledged and addressed.  There must be room left for imperfection\, as no family is perfect. This concept is certainly applicable to priests who work with migrants.  Migrants are often separated from their families or have lost family members\, creating very complex familial situations. \nFr. Aldo Skoda\, CS discussed concepts related to the governance of migration\, as well as how the media has affected public perception of migrants. Global policies tend to focus on the concern of national security over fundamental human rights. The militarization of borders reflects this perception. The failure of policies to adequately address migration related issues increases fear and perceived danger.  Further\, the media influences public perception through negative stories and political campaigns related to migration.  There is this view of the “migration crisis”\, that these individuals are invading a particular country and cause societal problems.  Fr. Aldo concluded with the idea of a Christian anthropological vision\, a way of diminishing the uncertainty around those who are different. \nThe aim of the event was to educate priests on how to approach migrants in their parish or diocese. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions and share their views around migration and working with migrants. Conversation concerning the acceptance of migrants who are not Christian was sparked.  The overarching theme concluded the importance of Catholic ministry to include and integrate migrants in both the Christian community and society.
