On 15 May 2015 from 15.00 to 18.00 hrs. at the Aula 12 of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, the Seminar titled, “Bonomelli and Scalabrini: Two Bishops whose Hearts a Diocese was not Enough to” was held. The even was organized by the Fondazione Migrantes (CEI), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Scalabrini International Migration Institute (SIMI) in Rome and Fondazione Iniziative e Studi sulla Multietnicità (ISMU) in Milano. The program was composed of two sessions. The first session, more from the historical perspective, was dedicated to the presentation of the contributions by prof. Matteo Sanfilippo (Bonomelli, Scalabrini and italian emigration), Mgrs. Gian Carlo Perego (The Opera of Bonomelli for emigrants) and prof. Giovanni Terragni (The inititives of Scalabrini catering to emigrants). The second session intended to highlight the sociological and pastoral relevance of the reflections proposed by the two Bishops of the second half of XIX century. Such contribution were presented respectively by Prof. Laura Zanfrini and Prof. Fabio Baggio.
